The beginning

... of the end of Democracy. On this day July 5th in 1997 and the day after, the forces loyal to 1st PM Prince Ranarriddh were defeated by the ones loyal to 2nd PM Hun Sen. Whatever the causes, that battle led to the polarization of the Royal Armed Forces over the CPP that will lend support over the years to its administration. The strong man get stronger and recently PM Hun Sen said that only him can command the Army.
      Without the rules of check and balance, Democracy in Cambodia exist only on paper. The beginning of the end that started in 1997 ...
       A new struggle for genuine Democracy by the Opposition that began in 2013 ... for another 10 years?
