It is in this day 3 years ago - July 7, 2008 - that Preah Vihear was registered as World Heritage Site. It was done during the pro Taksin Thai Government. With the Thai Democrats coming to power armed confrontation was flared on and off, with the case brought by the Cambodian Government to the UN Security Council and now pending at the International Cour of Justice.
Now that the pro Taksin Government won the last July 3 elections and came back to power, it is possible that a peaceful solution will be found for the settlemnt of this Nortwestern borders conflict.
Time will tell.
