Buddhism: Dhamma Day

Today the full moon of the month of Asath, 7 weeks after his enlightenment, the Lord Buddha came out from his retreat to preach his Dhamma. It is called the First Sermon delivered to the 5 disciples that were his old companions. The sermon was known as the Dhamma cakkapavatana Sutra or the the Turning of the Wheel of Dhamma.
The sermon started with the Dhamma of the Middle Way, followed by the Noble Eightfold Path, the Four Noble Truth and the Dhamma of Origination Arising or Padicacca Samupadda. These Dhamma are the fundamentals of Buddha's Teaching.
It  coincides with the beginning day of the Buddhist Raining Season Retreat or Lent Day during which all monks must stay at the pagodas for 3 months of the rainy season.
Buddhism is the religion that teach people to: 1) Not to do evil, 2) to Do good actions, and 3) to Purify your mind. To my knowledge to prify your mind is trough meditations: the Samatha meditation and/or the Vipassana medition. It is a practice that need to be learn for our own good.
