Khmer M'chas Srok: On the Move
Continuing her trip returning from Australia en route to Paris, Dr. Chak Sakhonn make a overnight stop in Seattle August 10 and 11 before flying to California. Dr. Chak Sakhonn, President of KMS was accompagnid by Mr. Sean Masavang, in charge of the KMS political affairs.
As part of the 2oth Anniversary Paris Peace Agreement had organized a seires of Conference starting with one in Geneva, the second was also in Geneva, the third recent one was in Australia, the fourth in September will be in New York, and the fifth will be at the University of Sorbonne in Paris on October 23, 2011, when the Agreement was signed 20 years ago. Dr. Sakhonn in her report emphasizes the importance of the Paris Agreement and warned the Cambodian Government that the non application of their terms could lead to desastrous conequences to Cambodia.

NCAO: the First Anniversary
For 3 days Friday evening followed by a retreat on Saturday and a briefing on Sunday NCAO or the Cambodian American National Organization celebrate its firt birthday.
US Debt Ceiling: Finally a Deal
... that avoid the disaster and possible stock market crash. The deal was approved by the House of Representative Monday Aug 1st. I was at the Chicago Airport watching the vote on CNN and many other passengers express a sight of relief. The deal was passed by the the Senate 76 to 24 a bit after noon today Aug 2nd and President Obama addressed the nation of this historic event shortly after.
